Van Lindberg is an open source lawyer and software developer. He has been involved with Python since 1998, and spent from 2008-2023 chairing PyCon US, chairing the Python Software Foundation, or serving as the PSF’s general counsel. Since then, he has been heavily involved in the development of AI law, including arguing for the copyrightability of the first AI-generated images submitted for registration to the US Copyright Office.
